Architecture Biennale 2027 · Venice
Venice Biennale
The Biennale alternates Art in even years and Architecture in odd years. The Art Biennale 2026 stays open until 22 November 2026. Here is what to know and what we arrange for you, from the airport to getting between pavilions.

Tips from people who work in Venice every day
- Check for Mondays. The main venues are generally closed on Mondays, with some exceptions: check the official calendar before you fix your visit.
- One venue at a time. The Giardini and the Arsenale can be done in one day, but two unhurried mornings work better.
- Arrive by water. Both venues have landings nearby: by boat you skip the walk along Riva degli Schiavoni at its busiest.
- Book early for May. Around the pre-opening and the opening, hotels, boats and restaurants in Castello are the first to go.
Frequently asked questions
When is the Venice Architecture Biennale 2027?
From 8 May to 21 November 2027, with the pre-opening on 6 and 7 May. It is the 20th International Architecture Exhibition, "Do Architecture", curated by Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu. Hours and calendar are published by La Biennale on its official site.
Can I still see the Art Biennale 2026?
Yes, until 22 November 2026. From 29 September hours are 10 am to 6 pm, and the main venues are closed on Mondays, with some exceptions listed by La Biennale.
How do I get to the Giardini and the Arsenale?
They are in Castello, in eastern Venice. From St Mark's you can walk along Riva degli Schiavoni, or go by boat: both venues have landings nearby, and our water taxi drops you a short walk from the entrance.
How long do I need for the Biennale?
At least a full day for the Giardini and the Arsenale. Pavilions and collateral events are spread across the city and the islands: with a private boat you can see several in half a day, without hunting for vaporetto stops.
Can you arrange a guided visit?
Yes. On request and subject to availability, we find a private guide or art historian and arrange the boat between venues and a table for lunch. Let us know a few weeks ahead, especially for May.
