Tuscany: Florence, Chianti and Val d'Orcia
In Tuscany we arrange the whole trip: a private transfer or chauffeur from Venice, from Florence Peretola and Pisa airports or from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station, then hotels in the city and villas in the countryside, private visits in Florence and tastings at wineries in Chianti and the Val d'Orcia. From Venice it is about 2 hours by Frecciarossa train or 3 hours by car. Guides, wineries, hotels and flights are partners we select; we coordinate every step and remain your single point of contact.

Florence and Tuscany: your questions
How far is Florence from Venice?
About 2 hours by Frecciarossa train from Venezia Santa Lucia to Firenze Santa Maria Novella, or about 3 hours by car. We arrange a door-to-door private transfer or a driver waiting at the station.
How do I get from Pisa airport to Florence?
By car with a private driver it takes about 1 hour from Pisa Galilei airport to central Florence, traffic permitting. From Florence Peretola airport the centre is about 20 minutes away.
What is the best time to visit the Val d'Orcia?
April to June and September to October. In spring the hills are green, in autumn it is harvest time; July and August are hot and the fields have already turned gold.
Can I do a private Chianti wine tour from Florence?
Yes. We arrange a day with a private chauffeur and private tastings at selected Chianti Classico wineries, starting and ending at your hotel in Florence. The driver does not drink, so the wine is all for the guests.
How long does it take to drive from Florence to the Val d'Orcia?
About 2 hours by car to Pienza or Montalcino. That is why we often suggest a few nights in the countryside rather than a day trip there and back.
Does VLS have its own drivers and cars in Tuscany?
