Amalfi Coast and Capri: your questions
How do I get from Naples airport to Positano?
A private car transfer takes about 1 hour 15 minutes from Naples Capodichino airport to Positano, longer in summer because of traffic on the Amalfi coast road. We arrange the driver in arrivals and, if you prefer, the last stretch by boat.
How do I get to the Amalfi Coast from Venice?
The fastest way is a flight of about 1 hour 20 minutes from Venice to Naples, then a private transfer of about 1 hour 15 minutes. Alternatively, take the Frecciarossa train to Napoli Centrale and a driver from the station.
How do I get to Capri?
Capri can only be reached by sea or by helicopter: hydrofoils and ferries leave from Naples and Sorrento, while we arrange a private boat or helicopter with licensed partners, with the transfer to and from your hotel coordinated.
When is the best time to visit the Amalfi Coast?
From May to September. May, June and September are the most balanced months; July and August are the busiest, so hotels, boats and restaurants should be booked several months ahead.
Can I hire a private boat to Capri from Positano?
Yes. We arrange crewed yachts or private boats with licensed operators for a day in Capri and around the Faraglioni, departing from Positano, Amalfi or Sorrento.
Does VLS own yachts or helicopters on the Amalfi Coast?
No. Our own boats operate in Venice; on the Amalfi Coast yachts, boats and helicopters belong to licensed partner operators that we select. Car transfers run with our own cars or with partner drivers we coordinate, and we remain your single point of contact.
